What a week! We have been busy exploring the Gold Coast with Paisley.
On Sunday, we started our morning at Bam Bam Bakehouse - a new local favourite. We had delicious a breakfast.
Then, we went searching for wild kangaroos! We were lucky to come across a mob of kangaroos in a residential park. Although we saw them in the zoo together last week, it was awesome to see them in the wild.
That night, we went back to mini putt for one more round. We played the water course and had a great time.
On Monday, we boarded the Tangalooma Resort Ferry to Moreton Island for a day trip of snorkelling. It wasn’t the most beautiful day, as it is winter here in Australia, but we made the most of it with some snorkelling, beach walking, and time in the pool. We saw hundreds of fish along a shipwreck 10 meters offshore!
On our way home, we stopped at Burleigh Gelato Co. for some delicious ice cream!
On Tuesday, Paisley and I went for a facial at a spa school on the Gold Coast. Then, we did some shopping! Later in the afternoon, Webster and Paisley jumped in the ocean … brr!
That night, we went to Walter’s Steakhouse for a birthday celebration. It was a delicious meal, with delicious steak, in a building older than Brisbane!
On Wednesday, Paisley flew to Sydney to visit a friend. She spent a few days exploring the city, going to Taronga Zoo, and watching the light show at Vivid Sydney!
Webster and I had a quiet few days with a breakfast date on the beach and some shopping before our big suitcase got sent home with Paisley.
On Thursday, we spent lots of time at the beach so Webster could catch some waves. It was a chilly day, but there were lots of surfers.
On Friday, Paisley arrived back in Brisbane and we went to the Brisbane Lions game at the Gabba. The Brisbane Lions play in the Australian Football League. The sport is played with an oval ball between two teams of eighteen players on a large oval-shaped field, with the aim of the game to kick the ball through the two tallest goal-posts which are set at either end of the ground. We had a great time watching the game and singing the Brisbane Lions song.
On Saturday morning, Paisley flew out of Brisbane back home. We dropped her off at the airport and she arrived back in Ontario without any delays - yay!
This week we are going to prioritize surfing time and watch a big rugby game at the casino. Webster is also participating in “the Bloody Long Walk” a 32km walk to raise awareness and support for people affected by mitochondrial disease. Go Webster!
Thanks for reading the blog, we will see you next week!
