This week was full of school work, more school work, and of course, some fun!
On Sunday, we started our day like most Sundays … with eggs benedict! Then we went to the Queensland Art Gallery for a drawing class. We expected it to be a beginner class, maybe cartooning or basic shapes … it was not. We were challenged to use mirrors and draw each other through a reflection. It was a unique experience, in a beautiful building in central Brisbane.
On Monday, we had brunch out at Flour and Chocolate, a local bakery in Morningside. It was delicious!
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were big days at school - my last days on campus ever! Webster came to school with me on Tuesday to do some work, get a coffee, and have a famous Bagel Boys bagel for lunch.
On Wednesday we went to our usual spot for trivia, and although we didn’t win anything, we cashed in a gift card from a previous week for some free beer!
On Thursday, Webster spent the day playing golf in a big tournament. It was a team based competition, Presidents vs. Captains. He finished 2nd - woohoo! We also enjoyed the last of our Dinnerly meal delivery service, this week we had chicken tacos and sesame beef bowls.
On Friday, we celebrated my last day at work, and our last weekend in Brisbane with cookies from Brooki Bakehouse - the TikTok famous bakery in Brisbane. Then, we went to the casino for some drinks. We are still using the free drink vouchers that came with our free casino membership … they really aren’t making any money off of us!
On Saturday, we had a busy day packing up our apartment. We are moving to the Gold Coast on Sunday since classes have ended. We will be a 5 minute walk to the beach. Although we have loved our apartment in Morningside, we are excited to be on the beach for our last few weeks in Australia.
In the evening, we met up with some friends for dinner at Ping Pong, an Asian fusion restaurant in Newstead. It was a very pink restaurant!
This week we are moving to the Gold Coast! I have to finish up some assignments, write an exam, and of course we will spend lots of time at the beach. Thanks for following along with the blog - see you next week!
