We're on a cruise! This week we got back to Brisbane, and left for a short weekend cruise!
On Sunday, Webster took off from Vancouver and flew to Brisbane. He had an uneventful flight, with gross airplane food. On Monday, Webster landed in Brisbane and was reunited with the red rocket! He picked up the car, got us settled in our apartment, and did some grocery shopping. He also went to the driving range to try and stay awake while avoiding jet lag.
I got stuck in Vancouver and spent Sunday and Monday connecting through LA before reaching Brisbane. I made the most of my layovers with one last iced capp in Vancouver and my favourite PF Chang’s in LA. I lucked out with an empty flight to Brisbane - we all spread out and I had a row of 4 seats to myself. I put up the armrests and laid down flat the entire plane flight. It made sitting for 14 hours, after waiting for 24 hours, a bit more bearable.
On Tuesday morning Webster picked me up from Brisbane airport … after 48 hours of travelling. I quickly went home to shower and then headed to school for my first class face-to-face of the semester. Webster was back to work for the day.
On Wednesday, we had another busy day getting back to life in Brisbane. I was at school for the day and Webster was on the hunt for a golf course to join. In the evening, we went to our favourite trivia with some friends from Queen’s!
On Thursday, we had a quiet day getting some school work, and work-work done. We unpacked a little more, got an air fryer (yay!), and got organized for our weekend adventure!
On Friday we woke up bright and early to board Royal Carribean’s Quantam of the Seas. The cruise was only four nights, and left from Brisbane, making is extremely affordable and easy to get to. On our first day, we spent some time exploring the huge ship and enjoying our balcony. Then, we did the surf simulator, bumper cars, and went for dinner in the main dining room. Later in the evening, we went to the bionic bar, a bar run completely by a robot. We ended our evening with a comedy show in the main theatre.
On Saturday, we were up bright and early to learn how to play some casino table games. Then, we did an escape room on board (and cracked the code!). We spent the afternoon enjoying the pool, the view, and participating in some activities on board. That night, we went for a delicious dinner in the main dining room and then watched the live show on board. Before bed, we went to the headphone disco. A completely silent night club where music is played through your headphones on multiple stations. It’s quite funny to watch the crowd dance to different stations and sing along in a quiet room.
This week we are finishing our cruise, getting some school work done, and heading to the beach! Thanks for following along on our Aussie adventures. See ya next week!
