Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday flew by! Webster and I were so tired from our busy weekend that we didn’t have much energy to do anything else. The weather wasn’t great so it was a good excuse for us to get some school work done for Australia and get our laundry done. We also planned our weekend in Lisbon coming up! On Thursday night I wanted to do some baking so Webster and I made homemade cake pops! It only took us 2 hours to make 8 pops but it was so worth it :)

On Friday night we went shopping. Webster read about a banana jam from Fortnum and Mason, so we HAD to go try it! We took the underground to Green Park and then walked past the beautiful Ritz hotel to get there. I had never been to Fortnum and Mason, so I was so surprised when we walked in and it was all turquoise! (Liz would have loved it - the whole store was her colour!!) It was fun to look around at all the fancy stuff they had.

We then walked down Regent Street towards Oxford Circus. We played in Hamley’s, Webster’s favourite toy store, and even got some Christmas shopping done :) After we came home, had some leftovers for dinner and played a new board game called Slip of The Tongue.

On Saturday we woke up early and went to Southbank to ride the London Eye. We wanted to be there right when it opened and we lucked out because we could walk right on! It was a beautiful morning, clear, a little cloudy, but great views!

After the London Eye, we headed to the Tower of London. The city was SO busy, full of tourists here to see the London NFL games, so the lines were much longer than we thought they would be. We spent some time looking around the grounds, looking at the prison, the royal beasts exhibition, and finally the crown jewels! The best part about the Tower of London is that you can see everything very close up. The guards are within feet of tourists, the crown jewels are within reach (behind glass of course), and all the armoury is out for people to pose with.

After a few hours at the Tower of London we headed to Borough Market. This was something that was on Webster’s must-do list while in London and being near Tower Bridge, we thought we would check it out.

It was amazing! Fresh food, prepared food, everything you could imagine from every part of the world was available at Borough Market. Again, it was packed full of local and tourists alike who were eager to try something new. Webster was on the hunt for fish and chips, so we lucked out when we found the “BEST” fish and chips at Borough Market. We didn’t buy any food for the week because it was just too busy to get close enough to each vendor, but we are hoping to go back later in the year, on a weekend where no NFL fans are in the city.

After our busy day out, we came home and Webster made steak for dinner :) It was SO yummy! We finished our night watching two British movies.

On Sunday morning, we slept in and enjoyed breakfast at home. It was a rainy, cold day here in London so we headed to the Museum of London to spend some time inside. It was an interesting museum outlining the history of the city, going back 2000 years. After we walked to St. Paul’s Cathedral to look at their beautiful grounds. Then, we came home to make chicken wings and watch football/write the blog.

This week we have a short week at work because we are heading to Lisbon for the weekend :)

Check back here next Sunday for all of our adventures this week!
